Telegram Notifications from scoreio: Statuses Where Teams Actually See Them

You can send a participant a perfect notification — and still go unheard. The email landed in spam, the personal message got buried, and nobody likes logging into a system just to check a status. The information exists, but it doesn't get through. We solved this from the other side: scoreio now sends Telegram notifications — straight into the messenger that's always in the participant's hand and where they will definitely see the alert.

How it used to be

In-platform notifications already worked: the system recorded changes to a registration and reported them. But any alert is only as good as the reliability of its delivery channel. And the default channels — email and logging in — each have their own weak spots.

Not everyone checks email, and not right away. Service emails happily slide into "promotions" and spam. And to see an in-platform notification, you have to go in — meaning the participant has to remember on their own to check the status. The paradox: the system knew about a change instantly, while the person learned of it hours, sometimes days, later.

For an event with deadlines this is critical. If a team urgently needs to submit missing data or confirm participation, and the notification sits unread in email, it's not just the team that suffers — the organizing committee's whole schedule does.

What changed

We added notification delivery via Telegram. It's not a replacement for in-platform alerts but the most reliable channel on top of them — where the participant will almost certainly react.

Alerts straight to the messenger

When something meaningful happens to a registration, the notification reaches the participant in Telegram. No need to open email, no need to log in — the message appears in the same messenger the team already uses to communicate.

Same events, more reliable delivery

Telegram receives the same alerts as the notifications center: a registration status change, important updates to a registration. What changes isn't the content but the channel — and with it, the chance the participant sees the message on time rises sharply.

Speed of response

A messenger is built so a notification is hard to miss. So reaction to statuses becomes almost instant: the team learned its registration was sent back for revision — and fixed it right away, without waiting for anyone to open email.

What this gives you

  • The notification will be seen. Telegram is a channel the participant checks constantly, unlike email opened once a day.
  • Faster response. Teams react to statuses almost immediately: send missing data, confirm participation, fix registrations before the deadline.
  • Fewer losses. Alerts don't go to spam and don't get buried among emails — they arrive in a live messenger.
  • Lighter support load. When participants learn statuses on time and in a convenient channel, there are even fewer "what's up with the registration?" questions.
  • A familiar format. Teams already communicate in messengers — notifications arrive there too, with no new tool to learn.

Scenarios where this solves the problem

A burning registration deadline. There are hours left before intake closes, and a team is missing data. The Telegram notification arrives instantly, the coach sees it without opening email, and gets everything in on time. The registration isn't lost because an email stayed unread.

A team that doesn't watch email. Many coaches simply don't sit in their inbox — they live in messengers. Telegram notifications meet the participant where they already are, rather than where they'd have to go on purpose.

A series with frequent updates. When statuses change often, every change needs to land fast. Telegram keeps the team informed in real time, and the organizing committee doesn't have to duplicate alerts by hand in chats.

Frequently asked questions

Does Telegram replace in-system notifications? No, it's an additional delivery channel on top of the notifications center. The same events also arrive in the messenger — where they're more likely to be seen.

What events arrive in Telegram? The same ones as in the notifications center: registration status changes and important updates to a registration.

Does the organizer have to do anything by hand? No. Alerts are generated automatically on registration changes — Telegram simply delivers them to the messenger.

Why is this needed if there's email? Email is checked rarely and not right away, and messages go to spam. The participant sees Telegram almost instantly — reaction to statuses speeds up.

Does this help reduce support questions? Yes. The more reliable the delivery channel, the fewer teams write "what's up with the registration?" — they already learned it all in the messenger.

How to get started

Telegram notifications are about delivery reliability. The platform already knew about every change to a registration, but now that knowledge is guaranteed to reach the participant — in a channel they check constantly. Less delay, fewer lost messages, faster response from the whole team.

Telegram alerts are an extension of the scoreio notifications center: the same events, but in the liveliest channel. And so the organizer also sees the full picture of what's happening with a registration, we added a registration status history.
